Gracie Barra Coral Springs serves Coral Springs, Margate, Parkland, and Coconut Creek from our academy on NW 62nd Ave. Led by Professor Sergio Costa, an IBJJF Medalist and Gracie Barra Black Belt 3rd Degree, we offer structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for every age and experience level. Kids programs run from Tiny Champs (ages 3–5) through Juniors & Teens — each age band has its own curriculum. Adult classes run evenings and Saturdays, beginner-friendly with no experience needed. We are part of the Gracie Barra worldwide network of 1,000+ schools. Hospital-grade mats, loaner gi included, family viewing area on-site. First class is always free.

Gracie Barra Black Belt

Sergio Santos Da Costa is the proud owner of Gracie Barra Coral Springs, Gracie Barra Boca Raton, and Gracie Barra Boynton Beach. A third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Sergio has dedicated over half his life to the art — he began training in Brazil 17 years ago and has taught Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the United States and abroad ever since. Under the influence of Grand Master Osvaldo Alves and the leadership at Gracie Barra Headquarters, Professor Sergio refined the technique and teaching ability he brings to every class. He has taught seminars at Gracie Barra academies across the United States, Brazil, and Europe, with experience instructing kids, adults, law enforcement, and high-level athletes. A successful international competitor with multiple championship medals, he took bronze at the 2012 IBJJF World Championship.

Sergio Costa or one of the coaches will walk you through a warm-up, demonstrate techniques step by step, and pair you with an experienced training partner. What do I need to wear to train?

For your first visit to Gracie Barra Coral Springs, any clean athletic clothing works — a t-shirt with shorts or sweatpants. If you decide to continue, you will need a Gracie Barra gi (uniform) for gi classes, or a rash guard and grappling shorts for no-gi sessions. The front desk can help you get fitted and order the right size.

What age groups do you offer classes for?

We have programs for every age. Tiny Champions is for children ages 3 to 5. Little Champions covers ages 6 through 9. Juniors & Teens is for ages 10 to 14. Adult classes start at 16 and up, with no upper age limit. Sergio Costa and the coaching staff at Gracie Barra Coral Springs tailor instruction to each group so everyone trains at the right level.
